Figured I would contribute to this great new sub-forum:

I picked this up a couple of weeks ago. So far no range time, but she is put together quite nicely. I added the Aimpoint CompML3, Tango Down Stubby Vertical Grip, Surefire G2 Led, Larue Sling, and Larue mounts for the light and optics.

Sorry the picture is fuzzy, my digital camera was stolen, so I had to take it with my cell phone.

Man, that's top of the line. How much did that package set you back?

I'm trying hard to forget the amount. You could calculate it though by going to their site and Larue's:

Under 3 oz of gold....barely.

PS: Noveske's customer service is excellent! Give them a call. Sheri will help you. This is supposed to be a picture of her from shotshow.

They don't bowl you over with a lot of information on their website do they? I know their rep is strong so they probably expect folks to know coming in, but geez they could at least give some kind of run down. Do you get to choose anything or is it "this is the way we make it and you'll like it!"??? For example the flash hider style, pistol grip, etc?? It says 14.5" barrel....is it an NFA item?

People consider them a custom shop. You can basically ask john to swap any accessories out and they will do it. Don't like the stock? Want a Magpul...no problem. They offer the vortex and surefire flashiders, but they could probably get something else in. Vortex is considered top tier.

I called, it was in stock, ready to ship to my FFL so, I took it off the rack as-is and it was on it's way next day. They will accomodate most requests, but it will add to the ship date.

They will pin the flash hider to the 14.5" barrel so it's not NFA. They just came out with a N4 that is 16" barrel this week and has a mid-length gas system that people have been begging for.

They are really good people to deal with, it's like calling any quality small business. I could not remember the last time I called a company and a real live human being answered my call and knew what they were talking about.

awesome rifle, scottp... is there an arms company that makes rifles like this in 7.62x39? Or am I better off going with an AK?

I'm waiting to see what the Bushmaster/ACR/Masada reports are from early sales this summer. I do believe that 5.56 is the first caliber, but the AK round will most likely be the first to follow. Watch this (They build an AK version about 5:05 in the video):

I'm waiting on the Masada/ACR as well. I already have a full length A2. If I wind up getting an M4 type rifle it'll be from Noveske most likely.

*if you plan to take more pics would you mind taking a shot of the feed ramps and the staking of the gas pin? I imagine they will be done perfectly like these. (if it's too much of a pita then no worries...a simple yep, looks just like that would work):

Yes, they are perfect. First thing I checked when the rifle arrived. I couldn't do much else but check out parts because I had to do paperwork and wait 8 days with the rifle at my FFL's store. I tried pics but close-ups are worthless with the cell phone.

Here, I'll try the closeup of the staking. In reality the stakings are at 12 and 6, the picture is under a table lamp and there's some distortion. Sorry...not buying a camera for a little while :-) I've got a 20" Colt AR Sporter Competition (pre-brady ban) as well and no complaints their either. The Colt has standard ramps.

There is one vendor that has an agreement with them to buy just the barrels and re-sell them. http://www.gandrtactical.com/cgi-bin...&category=NRIF

BCG's probably not :D
